Art Spiegelman: Comics and Politics

Art Spiegelman is an American comics artist, editor, and illustrator, best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning comic book memoir, Maus and Maus II. In September 2004, he released “In the Shadow of No Towers”, in which he relates his experience of the 9/11-Twin Towers terrorist attack and the psychological after-effects. Time Magazine has named Spiegelman one of their “Top 100 Most Influential People.”

A Debate on Afri-Centric Schools in Canada

In Canada, the Toronto District School Board agreed to create schools just for black students, to fight the alarming drop-out rate among black youth. Is this a throwback to the era of segregation? Or could it really work? I discussed the issue with educators, trustees, and students.
